ByLandAndSea.ie is about travelling to and from Ireland without flying.

ByLandAndSea.ie is two things – a guide, and a campaign.

We provide a guide to travelling to and from Ireland without flying. This guide is written by people with extensive experience of international travel to and from Ireland without flying, and mostly without a car too.

Main author: Elaine Baker, other contributors so far include Aaron Bailey, Martin Breen, Ciaran Cannon, Andrew Flood, Rita Marcalo, Sébastien Molines, Joe Noonan, Patrick O’Connor, Darach Ó Murchu, Philip O’Rawe and Michael Pidgeon

Have you travelled by land and sea to and from Ireland? Share your experiences and tips!  Please email hello@bylandandsea.ie with your contributions and suggestions. If you can provide photos which are useful to people planning this type of travel, please do that too.

We are also hoping to develop a campaign to improve services, convenience and prices for people choosing this mode of travel to and from Ireland. Do you have ideas and energy for this? Read more on the campaigns page, follow us on Mastodon, and join us! Email hello@bylandandsea.ie

We are also open to collaborations with ferry operators, public transport operators and bike-hire/share/storage schemes to improve services and connections. ByLandAndSea.ie is not, and never will be, a pay-for-advertising or sponsored-content website. However, if we work with and manage to get improved services and options from operators, we will talk about them here.

As well as suggestions and inputs, we also welcome notes of appreciation if this site has helped you! You can write comments below.
